Illinois Valley Times

There were three offenders living in Bureau County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows all of the released offenders in Bureau County were men. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 37-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2022, and the oldest was a 53-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2022.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Mitchell B. Buell. He was convicted of a property crime in 2020 when he was 34 years old. He is now 37.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
