Illinois Valley Times

There were 16 offenders living in Lasalle County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows 15 men and one woman were released in Lasalle County. The median age of the parolees was 40. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2022, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2022.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Cassandra N. Barnes. She was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016 when she was 33 years old. She is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
