Q4 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from Grundy County convicted of property crimes set for release

There were two offenders convicted of property crimes living in Grundy County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 54. The younger parolee was a 52-year-old woman sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man sentenced in 2020.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Richard A. Wanda. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 53 years old. He is now 56.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of property crimes were paroled during the fourth quarter of 2021 in each Illinois county.
