Q1 2022 Recap: 2 parolees from Lasalle County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in Lasalle County released on parole during the first quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol, one was a veteran, and the median age was 62. The younger parolee was a 59-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced in 2007.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Timothy S. Barnhart. He was convicted in 2007 when he was 48 years old. He is now 64.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
