Q2 2022 Recap: 3 parolees from Lasalle County convicted of sex crimes set for release

There were three offenders convicted of sex crimes living in Lasalle County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Illinois Valley Times.

The data shows all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for sex crimes was 37. The youngest parolee was a 36-year-old man sentenced in 2015, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Steven R. Bourey. He was convicted in 2014 when he was 29 years old. He is now 37.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
