City of Peru Fire and Police Committee met Feb. 27

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Buffo, Edgcomb and Tieman present; Mayor Kolowski present.

OTHER PERSONS PRESENT: Aldermen Waldorf, Lukosus and Payton

PUBLIC COMMENT

None

MINUTES

Alderman Buffo made a motion to approve the Police and Fire Committee Minutes of February 13, 2023. Alderman Edgcomb seconded the motion; motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Police Chief Sarah Raymond updated the committee regarding the proposed MTU (Mobile Training Unit) wanting to utilize a small space at the police department. Chief Raymond reported Sergeant Scott DeGroot will research a facility use agreement. Chief Raymond stated there would be a $500 per month facility use fee.

NEW BUSINESS

Police Chief Sarah Raymond initiated a discussion regarding the purchase of 4 traffic speed signs tobe used predominantly in school zones. Committee was in favor.

Chief Raymond reported on the location of the traffic speed signs:

• 1400 blk of Shooting Park Rd. on the north side of the road for westbound traffic

• 1600 blk of Shooting Park Rd. on the south side of the road for eastbound traffic

• Shooting Park Rd. west of Sycamore St. on the south side of the road for eastbound traffic

• 1300 blk of Church St. on the east side of the road for northbound traffic

Alderman Edgcomb made a motion to adjourn. Alderman Tieman seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
