DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING PETITIONS:

Request from Ameren Illinois to break ground at 307 Pershing Road to install new gas service and related matters.

Request from Tyler Signs, Inc. on behalf of Travel Center Realty a/k/a Southern Tire Mart to install two single-facing, illuminated signs and three single-facing, non-illuminated signs at 341 Civic Road and related matters.

Request from Nick Hammers for a Special Event Permit to allow and extension of hours for outdoor music and increase of allowed decibel readings on August 5, August 12, August 19, August 25, August 26, September 1, September 2, and September 3 and related matters.

Request from the City of La Salle Foundation for a Special Event Permit to allow an extension of hours for outdoor music, increase of allowed decibel readings and street closure on September 29th and 30th and related matters.

Request from the City of La Salle Foundation for a 2023 Raffle License and related matters.

REPORTS OF CITY OFFICERS

Treasurer’s Report for June 2023 showing total cash balances in La Salle State Bank of $13,035,083.69 and in Hometown National Bank of $7,364,995.52.

COMMUNICATIONS

Illinois Department of Revenue report showing sales tax collected for April 2023 of $85,281.00 and Home Rules Sales Tax of $73,789.80 for a total of $159,070.80.

BIDS

Discussion and potential approval recommendation regarding bid award for borehole at Water Treatment Plant and related matters.

APPOINTMENTS/RESIGNATIONS

STANDING COMMITTEES

Discussion and potential action regarding the recommendation of the Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee regarding adding a “No Outlet” or “Dead End” sign at the railroad tracks on First Street and related matters.

Discussion and potential action regarding the recommendation of the Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee regarding adding speed bumps on the 900 block of Baker Avenue and related matters.

SPECIAL COMMITTEES

OLD BUSINESS

Confirmation and ratification of a straw vote regarding a Tag Day request from Tammy Humpage of the La Salle Peru St. Jude Run for August 5, 2023 and related matters.

Authorization of Pay Request #9 for Vissering Construction Company totaling $72,921.60 for work completed to date on Aerobic Digester Conversion project and related matters.

Authorization of Pay Request #4 for Vissering Construction Company totaling $125,239.00 for work completed to date on WTP Improvements 2022 project and related matters.

NEW BUSINESS

DISCUSSION AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL ORDINANCES/RESOLUTIONS:

A Resolution to adopt and allocate funds for an outdoor fitness court as part of the 2023 National Fitness Campaign and related matters.

A Resolution to seek bids in order to enter into a wholesale electricity supply contract for the City of La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois and related matters.

And Ordinance authorizing Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement regarding seeking Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for Business Resiliency and related matters.

COMMENTS

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Regarding pending and/or potentially imminent litigation and related matters: Collective bargaining and related matters, and acquisition and/or sale of city real estate and related matters and the employment, discipline, appointment, performance and/or compensation of non-union and/or union personnel and related matters pursuant to the Open Meetings Act including 5-ILCS  120 Section 2(c)1-2,5,6,11 thereof.
