Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Crane to approve a “No Outlet” sign before the railroad tracks on southside of Union and First Street.

Alderman discussed that speed bumps were discouraged on city streets. Alderman Crane mentioned that a resident in the neighborhood of Washington and Baker stated how the cars do go very fast on Baker. The resident was against speed bumps also but suggested a three-way stop at Washington and Baker Ave.

Finance Director did hand deliver the notifications to the residents in regards to this topic being discussed tonight at the meeting. Only one resident, possibly the same one that Crane spoke with, contacted Duncan and stated the same concerns for the speed bumps, especially with all the Pohars trucks and traffic. This resident was definitely for trying to find a way to slow down traffic. He did also suggest the three-way stop on Baker and Washington.

Moved by Alderman Lavieri and seconded by Alderman Herndon to deny the request regarding speed bumps on the 900 block of Baker Avenue.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Alderman Crane stated that the “Dead End” signs that were placed on Washington St. seem to be working very well for the residents at the end of that block.

NEW BUSINESS

Chairman Bacidore mentioned to all the aldermen to contact Brian Brown if they want any of their streets in their ward re-striped and Brown will add their suggestions to a work order list.

There were no more questions or comments from the public.
