City of Peru Finance Committee met Aug. 21.

MINUTES
Alderman Tieman made a motion to approve the Finance Committee Minutes of July 7, 2023. Alderman Ballard seconded the motion; motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS
Finance Officer Tracy Mitchell reported she is conducting a sales tax analysis and has identified multiple online businesses reporting.
Alderman Edgcomb inquired about the status of short-term lodging at the apartment building near the Comfort Inn. Eric Carls, Director of Engineering and Zoning confirmed it is a multi-family unit that is grandfathered in as a non-conforming use.
Mayor Kolowski reported that Ollie’s will be scouting sites for a retail store.
