City of Peru Public Services Committee met Oct. 30.

PLACE OF MEETING: Peru Municipal Building 1901 4th Street, Peru, IL 61354
ROLL CALL: Aldermen Edgcomb, Payton, Tieman and O’Sadnick present. Also present, Aldermen Lukosus, Ballard, Moreno, and Mayor Kolowski.
MINUTES
Alderman Edgcomb made a motion to approve the Public Services Meeting Minutes of October 16, 2023. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.

CODE ENFORCEMENT

POLICE
Police Chief Sarah Raymond initiated a discussion regarding the purchase of 2 additional Flock safety cameras (additional coverage on RTE 251) and contract with Flock for 2024.
Chief Raymond initiated a discussion of new canine for the next year for an approximate cost of $15,000.00.

PARKS & RECREATION
Adam Thorson, Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events initiated a discussion regarding lighting improvements at Sunset Park. Mr. Thorson stated he received a quote from Musco Sports Lighting in the amount of $99,800 with 75% paid through a grant from the IMEA. (Project to be constructed and funded in FY 25).
Mr. Thorson reminded the council that Trick-or-Treating is on Tuesday, October 31st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Alderman Edgcomb asked for committee input regarding resuming streaming committee meetings on Facebook. Aldermen Edgcomb, Payton and O’Sadnick are indifferent.

Alderman Payton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Alderman O’Sadnick seconded the motion; motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 4:38 p.m.
