City of Ottawa Special Events Committee met Dec. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting Called to Order: 5:35 pm 

Present at the Meeting were Michael Dougherty, Dan Eilts, Candy Moore, Jim Reilly, Lloyd Chapman, Rich Crum, Abbie Kennedy, Cortney DeArcos, Alaina Iverson  

Absent Were, Wayne Eichelkraut. Jani Eichelkraut, Robin Wilson, Lucas Hennenfent No Guests attended with no public comment. 

With a Request for Funding on the Chris Kringle Market for $3210.00 including $2210.00 For Santa Expenses for entire event duration was discussed and up to $1000.00 for 4 Different free craft projects for the kids as well. After a lengthy discussion a motion was made by Candy to accept funding for the Kids Projects of $1000.00 and denial for funding for Santa fees of $2210.00 with a Second by Abbie. The motion passed 

The Messiah Concert for $1350.00 the event was discussed by Lloyd Chapman on schedule of the event. After a Discussion, Jim made a motion to fund the $1350.00 and a Second by Candy, Motion Passed with Lloyd Abstaining.

The minutes from the December meeting were approved after a motion by Jim, seconded by Lloyd. Motion Carried.

Financial report was discussed then approved after a motion by Mike, seconded Lloyd. Motion Carried.

Under New business, Abbie and Cortney brought up an idea of doing a summer series concert once a month on a Friday for a younger generation held at the Jordan block’ 

Then under Old Business on Music in the Park 2024 the members were sent a link in an email link to see a list of possible bands for 2024 on the list to discuss in January. 

Meeting adjourned at 6:43pm
