City of LaSalle Finance Committee met Jan. 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Ptak Called the Meeting to order at 6:00 pm

ROLL CALL

Present: Chairman Ptak, Aldermen Bacidore, Thompson, Reynolds, Lavieri, Jeppson, Crane

Excused Absence: Alderman Herndon

Others Present: Deputy Clerk Brent Bader, Finance Director John Duncan, Economic Development Director Curt Bedei, City Building Inspector Andy Bacidore, Fire Chief Jerry Janick

A quorum was present.

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Thompson to approve the minutes from December 27, 2023.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Ptak mentioned that he was able to speak with Mike Bird in regard to his request since he was unable to make the meeting tonight. Ptak mentioned how Bird has fixed the roof and partitioned off a section. Bird received two legitimate bids from Koolmaster and the Glass Shop. Bird plans on doing the front windows and the west side windows. He will have four retail spots, three in the front and one on the west side. He has already added four HVAC systems to the rooftop.

Moved by Alderman Jeppson and seconded by Alderman Thompson to accept the recommendation regarding a request from Mike Bird of M Bird Estates for a Redevelopment Incentive Program grant totaling $25,000 for two sides of the corner building located at 502 First Street.

NAY: None Absent: Alderman Herndon Abstain: None

MOTION CARRIED: 7-0

OLD BUSINESS

Chairman Ptak did ask about all the bills recently from Clegg Perkins. Duncan stated that he would check in with Kevin in regard to what work this pertained to. Alderman

Crane mentioned that in the past, most of the work was done in-house if they could fix it, and then call in James Brady or Ficek for something a little more serious. Alderman Crane asked if the city had a contract with Clegg Perkins. Duncan stated that the city does not.

There were no more questions or comments from the public.

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Crane to adjourn the meeting. Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Ptak adjourned the meeting at 6:04pm
