City of Peru Finance Committee met Jan. 22.

ROLL CALL: Aldermen Payton, Sapienza, Tieman present. Alderman Ballard absent. Also present, Aldermen Lukosus, Edgcomb, O’Sadnick and Moreno present; Mayor Kolowski present.
MINUTES
Alderman Tieman made a motion to approve the Finance Committee Minutes of January 8, 2024.
Alderman Ballad seconded the motion; motion carried.

FINANCE
Finance Officer Tracy Mitchell stated she is ready to present the first draft of the FY 25 budget containing three years of historical data.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Human Resource Director Kim Reese reported on negotiations with the bargaining unit.
OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
Alderman Payton discussed the following:
• Further research changes to ERP payroll to improve the budgeting process.
• Asked department heads to research budgets.
• Stated he is pleased with current investment policy and practices.
• Wants monthly budget discussion with department heads.
• Wants quarterly re-budgeting.
