City of Peru Public Works Committee met March 4
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
ROLL CALL: Chairman, Aldermen Lukosus, Sapienza, Ballard and Moreno present. Also present:
Aldermen Payton, Tieman, Edgcomb and O’Sadnick present. Mayor Kolowski present.
MINUTES
Alderman Moreno made a motion to approve the Public Works Committee Minutes of February 19, 2024. Alderman Sapienza seconded the motion; motion carried.

IT REPORT
Police Chief Sarah Raymond addressed an issue with IVRD integration with the phones and cameras.
IT Director Stephen Rounds explained the system, when originally installed at IVRD with the phone system being setup like a single business. Upgrading the phone system and tunnelling the traffic is needed to update the system. Alderman Payton asked for a quote for a multi-town phone system upgrade for Peru. Mr. Rounds explained the secure solution is time consuming.
WATER & SEWER
None
T.E.S.T.
Chris Perra, President of T.E.S.T. reported on the replacement of the aerator bypass for the water plant and recommended approving a quote from OnSite in the amount of 46,513.58.
AIRPORT
Eric Carls, Director of Engineering and Zoning reported on the following:
• RFP’s are out for airport consulting.
• June bid letting for T-Hangar project

STREETS & ALLEY

ELECTRIC
Kevin Minnick, Electric Department Operations Manager discussed the following and made a recommendation for approval at next regular meeting:
Discuss Quote Evaluation and Contracting Assistance from PSE (Power System Engineering, Inc.) for SCADA System Replacement, in the amount of $12,800.00.
Discuss purchase/replacement of Unit 1 at Hydro Electric Plant from Ideal Electric Inc., in the amount of $496,340.00.
Discuss maintenance and repair of Unit 4 at Hydro Electric Plant in an amount not to exceed $70,000.00. (multiple vendors)
ENGINEERING
Eric Carls, Director of Engineering & Zoning reported on the following:
• General Fund Street Program
o Pre-construction meeting next week
o May 1st start date.
• Rte. 6 Water Main Improvements
o Pre-work is underway.
• Plank Road Widening Project
o STU/State Project
▪︎ June bid letting with a late season start.
