City of Ottawa Arts Committee met May 6

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Call to Order: 10:02 AM – Anna Wright

Present: Anna Wright, Annette, Barr, Ryan Wotherspoon, Ryan Searle, Jocelyn Campbell, Susan Burton, and Alaina Iversen.

Absent: Amanda Weygand

Public Comment: N/A

Motion to Approve Minutes: Motion for approval by Annette Barr, Seconded by Ryan Searl. All Ayes.

Motion approved.

Old Business:

Free Little Art Library is delayed due to the program in Sheridan not being open because of staffing.

The goal is to have the library open in June, but this date is TBD>

Annette Barr has pitched this to the Art Club at OTHS and to Marquette Academy Students to provide artwork.

Mini Ribbon Cutting Ceremony upon opening.

Annette is getting in touch with Marla Pearson to contact JULIE for digging.

Utility Box Wrapping Update:

Received quotes from the City of Rockford.

Proposed sites in Ottawa: Lasalle & Jefferson Street, Washington Park, and Main & LaSalle St. (3 total to start). These locations have been approved by Marla Pearson.

Susan obtaining quotes for wrapping.

Need timeline.

Need a call to artists.

Susan is going to create a budget and an application.

Buffalo Rock State Park sign is on hold.

New Business:

Approval to assist with Art Vendors for Drinkin’ with Lincoln on 7/27 & 7/28.

Motion for approval by Annette Barr, Seconded by Jocelyn Campbell. All Ayes. Motion approved.

Will need to create google form to submit application to juried event.

The price is $50 for vendor.

Accepting 8 fine art vendors.

Times are the same as the Drinkin’ with Lincoln event:

Saturday, July 27th: 1 PM – 9 PM

Sunday, July 28th: 12 PM – 5 PM

Approval to assist the Wine & Art Walk on 11/2.

Motion for approval by Jocelyn Campbell, Seconded by Ryan Searle. All Ayes. Motion approved.

Will support the event as determined and agreed upon by the event organizers and the City of Ottawa Art Committee.

Next Board Meeting: Monday, June 3rd, 2024
