According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 1723 students during the year. This equates to 142 percent of the 1,213 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for one incident with violence that caused physical injury, 47 incidents with violence without physical injury, 35 incidents with alcohol and tobacco, 34 incidents with drugs, three incidents with a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons, of which there were 1,488. There were 16 incidents of tobacco. For 1,090 incidents, students were suspended for one to two days.
Boy students received 1,246 suspensions, while 477 girls were suspended.
There were 1,723 high school students suspended in 2021-22 school year.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons, of which there were 115. There were 33 incidents of violence without injury. For 75 incidents, students were suspended for one to two days.
