Discuss Supplying Water to 8960 E. Valerio Road Resident

Mayor Kernc welcomed Mr. Berta to the meeting. Casey McCollom of Chamlin and Associates was present. Mr. Berta described the water issue with his current well. He wanted to discuss the option of connecting to Diamond and having water supplied by the village. McCollom discussed the pros and cons of a long service line to his property. Public Works Jim Dunning discussed several areas which the water line could be connected to. Mr. Berta was informed that all cost and labor for materials, work etc. would be his responsibility. Berta is looking into all options for him whether to drill a new well or the connection to the village. Kernc stated Berta would need to have an engineer draw plans and cost estimate for the connection to the village. McCollom stated it would be in the best interest to explore cost, possible water pressure issues, minimize joints in lines etc. for the possible connection to the village water supply. Mr. Berta thanked the village board for discussing the possible connection for his residence. He will move forward by looking at all options. If the decision is to connect with the village, Berta will return with engineering plans and address the board at that time.
