City of Oglesby City Council met July 22

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Oglesby City Council meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Mayor Jason Curran.

PRESENT: Commissioners Rich Baldridge, Don Finley, Gregory McDermott, Tony Stefanelli and Mayor Jason Curran. City Attorney Pat Barry and City Clerk Becky Clinard were also present.

PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS (None)

Curran told the council the reason the minutes were being presented for approval was because the Dickinson House needed the minutes to be shared with the County for their ARPA grant.

Commissioner Baldridge questioned changes to the July 15, 2024, minutes after the packets were shared with the council Friday. Baldridge pointed out that any changes to the minutes were supposed to be brought before the council. Curran countered that the changes were grammatical and corrected a date, and did not alter the content of the minutes. The clerk made the changes after the errors were brought to her attention and had provided each council member with a copy of the minutes and the changes highlighted in yellow before the meeting began. Stefanelli agreed with Baldridge, saying that the council had agreed to address changes to the minutes at the meeting.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY Baldridge, SECONDED BY McDermott, to approve the July 15, 2024, minutes as originally presented to the council without the alteration. AYES: Baldridge, Finley, McDermott, Stefanelli. NAYS: Curran. MOTION CARRIED.
