Alderman Bacidore began the discussion in regard to adding a handicapped parking space at 41 4th Street. Deputy Bader mentioned that he did speak to the resident after last meeting. The resident is still requesting a handicap spot on the street. The resident was unable to make it because of a fall but would still like the handicapped spot if possible. It is difficult for him to park in his drive and walk through the grass to his entrance. Alderman Lavieri felt that there was not enough room to park the car legally.

Moved by Alderman Ptak and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to grant the request to add a handicapped parking space at 15 4th St.

ROLL CALL

AYES: Chairman Bacidore, Aldermen Ptak, Reynolds, Lavieri, Jeppson, Herndon, Crane

NAYS: NONE Absent: NONE Abstain: NONE

MOTION CARRIED: 7-0

Moved by Alderman Lavieri and seconded by Alderman Herndon to take the request off the table and back on the floor regarding adding a handicapped parking space at 41 4th St.

Resident at 41 4th St. Mentioned that he was not looking for a handicapped parking space outside his resident but does not want anyone parking there. His biggest concern is the high school students parking there throughout the day. Resident also mentioned to Bader that he was not interested in the curb being painted yellow. Bader reminded the committee that the resident did propose two-hour parking on that block at the last meeting.

Moved by Alderman Ptak and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to add two-hour parking to the northside of the 400 block of 4th Street, except for the handicapped parking.

ROLL CALL

AYES: Chairman Bacidore, Aldermen Ptak, Reynolds, Lavieri, Herndon, Crane

NAYS: Alderman Jeppson Absent: NONE Abstain: NONE

MOTION CARRIED: 6-1

Brianne Hicks why the committee voted on enforcing the two-hour no parking rule when others are not allowed to park close to a driveway. She feels that the council is just extending the issue.

Dawn Hicks asked about signs being put up at the mansion and the committee voted against this happening. Hicks was confused because the committee did vote in favor of having signs up for “Mansion Parking Only’. Committee members mentioned that they do remembering voting on it. It was not a unanimous vote but it did pass for them to put up “Mansion Parking Only.”

There were no questions or comments from the public.

Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Crane to adjourn the meeting.

Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Chairman Bacidore adjourned the meeting at 6:29 p.m.
