FOIA Request Sent to City of Earlville Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Earlville Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Illinois Valley Times have submitted a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. The request was sent to the City of Earlville in Illinois and seeks information about all currently unpaid parking violations.

Specifically, we have asked for a list that includes the name of each offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date of each violation, and the total amount due. We have requested that this information be provided in an electronic format.

As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to these records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We will continue to keep you updated on this matter as more information becomes available.
