City of LaSalle Street, Alleys and Traffic Committee met Oct. 14
Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

ROLL CALL

Absent: None
Others Present: Deputy Clerk Brent Bader, Finance Director John Duncan, Economic Development Director Curt Bedei, City Attorney Jim McPhedran, City Engineer Brian Brown, City Treasurer Virginia Kochanowski, Alderman Thompson
A quorum was present.
Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Herndon to approve and place on file the minutes of the Streets, Alleys and Traffic Committee for September 30, 2024.
Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Resident Sue Layhew, 221 Kilmer Ave., expressed her concerns about heavy traffic on Kilmer Avenue and the need for a stop sign and a no parking zone. She stated that there have been some dangerous situations due to parked cars on both sides of the street, obstructing visibility and causing near misses. Mrs. Layhew emphasized the need for better visibility and safety measures to prevent accidents.
Resident John Argubright, 1221 Linden Ave., shared his personal experiences of near misses and difficulties in seeing oncoming traffic due to bushes and parked cars. He did mention that he does believe there was a stop sign on Linden at the Kilmer intersection. He thought it may just have not went back up after an accident possibly.
He does not believe a stop sign will resolve this issue, however. He does question if there are any ordinances in regard to bushes on property and the height of them and the distance from the road also. Both residents agreed that a conversion van that was parked there often was a blocking issue also, but this van has recently not been present lately.
Moved by Alderman Crane and seconded by Alderman Reynolds to table the request to add a stop sign for southbound traffic on Linden Avenue at the Kilmer Road intersection and consideration of “No Parking” on the west side of Linden Avenue from driveway nearest the Kilmer Road intersection to corner and related parking matters on Kilmer Road, Linden Avenue, and Creve Coeur Street.
The committee thought it would be best to table the decision until ordinances were reviewed in regard to the bushes on property and parking regulations be reviewed, along with reviewing an ordinance in regard to a possible stop sign that was once there.
