FOIA Request to City Of Ottawa Regarding New and Active Residential and Commercial Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Illinois Valley Times have sent a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. We are seeking records from the City of Ottawa regarding all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, till today's date. The specific fields requested include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address, and contractor name.
Furthermore, we are also requesting information about all active residential and commercial building permits and their current status with the same fields as mentioned above.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
