City of Marseilles City Council met Nov. 20

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Official proceedings of the City Council of the City of Marseilles of the meeting of November 20, 2024.

The City Council of the City of Marseilles met in the City Chamber of City Hall at the hour of 6:00 P.M. on November 20, 2024.

Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Roll call showed the following present: Mayor Hollenbeck, Commissioner Kaminski, Small, Scheib, and Buckingham. Absent: None.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Small that the minutes from the council meeting of November 6, 2024 be approved and waive a reading of the minutes. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Small, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck.

Nays: Commissioner Schieb

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Small that the accounts payable for the first half of November in the amount of $648,723.06 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for the said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Small, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: Commissioner Scheib.

Moved by Commissioner Kaminski seconded by Commissioner Buckingham that the payroll for the first half of November in the amount of $49,424.44 be approved and a warrant be drawn on the City Treasury for said amount. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Small, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: Commissioner Scheib.

Ordinance 1877 an ordinance amending Chapter 50 of the municipal code of the City of Marseilles, LaSalle County, Illinois be placed on file. Motion died for lack of a second.

Commissioner Small swore in new patrol officer Caitlyn Barnes. Chief Todd Gordon promoted Dan Ellis to Sergeant. Annual shop with a cop will be held December 7, 2024.

Commissioner Schieb would like to stripe 44,000 feet on Rutland Street, total cost $13,200.00.

The purchase of lots 8-12 on Young Street offer has been rescinded.

Moved by Commissioner Buckingham seconded by Commissioner Kaminski that the City Council adjourns. Ayes: Commissioner Kaminski, Small, Buckingham, and Mayor Hollenbeck. Nays: Commissioner Scheib.
