On January 28, 2025, a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to Ransom Grade School by the Illinois Valley Times. The request seeks access to all emails and memos from the past year that contain the keywords "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study".
The Illinois Valley Times is a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. In this capacity, we requested these records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, preferably in electronic format.
As part of our mission to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public, access to these records is crucial. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
