On January 28, 2025, we at the Illinois Valley Times submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Hall Township High School District 502. The request specifically sought copies of all emails and memos from the past year that contained the keywords "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study."
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
The requested documents are expected to shed light on the district's internal communications regarding "Lucy Calkins" and "Units of Study," potentially revealing important insights into the school district's operations and decision-making processes.
