City of LaSalle Finance Committee met Feb. 3
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Pro-Tem Chair Lavieri called the Meeting to order at 6:00 pm
ROLL CALL
Present – Aldermen Lavieri, Reynolds, Bacidore, Jeppson, Herndon
Excused Absence – Chairman Ptak, Alderman Crane, Alderman Thompson
Moved by Alderman Herndon and seconded by Alderman Jeppson to make Alderman Lavieri Pro-Tem Chairperson.
Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Jeppson to allow Alderman Crane to attend the meeting remotely.
Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.

Excused Absence – Alderman Ptak, Alderman Thompson
Others Present: Deputy Clerk Brent Bader, Finance Director John Duncan, Economic Development Director Curt Bedei, Fire Chief Jerry Janick, City Treasurer Virginia Kochanowski
A quorum was present.
Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Jeppson to approve the minutes from January 20, 2025.
Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Alderman Herndon questioned the request from Utica Fireside White Sox Club regarding a monetary donation to be used toward local ambulance services and who may have requested it to be on the agenda. Deputy Clerk Bader explained that such a donation request does typically go to the finance committee.
This request died on the floor due to a lack of a motion.
Alderman Jeppson questioned the name Kevin Bressendorf which was under bills a couple times. Finance Director John Duncan stated that he is the owner of Computer Spa and the city has recently switched some of the vendor names, depending on whether they were incorporated in either their names or their corporate names.
There were no more questions on the bills.
Alderman Bacidore questioned the time of the vote on insurance and Alderman Lavieri noting the deadline of June 1. Alderman Bacidore does question when they will have all eight Alderman present to vote.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Dena Hicks inquires about the cost of the Celebration of Lights and their inclusion in the finance.
Finance Director Duncan stated that the expenses are approved on a bi-weekly basis.
Duncan also explained that the invoices are approved and paid as they come in.
Dena Hicks also raised a question about minimum wage vs. union wages for the labor at the Celebration of Lights.
There were no questions or comments from the public.
Moved by Alderman Reynolds and seconded by Alderman Bacidore to adjourn the meeting.
Voice vote, all ayes. Motion carried.
Pro-Tem Lavieri adjourned the meeting at 6:08 p.m.
