City of Peru Public Services Committee met Feb. 17

Alderman Edgcomb made a motion to approve the Public Services Committee Minutes of February 3, 2025. Alderman Payton seconded the motion; motion carried.

PARKS & RECREATION
Adam Thorson, Director of Parks, Recreation and Special Events reported on budgeted repairs/replacement for the backstop at the north diamond at Veteran’s Park.
Mr. Thorson reported he spoke with Lucas Burris of the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp regarding an LED scoreboard and stated the Pistol Shrimp have no interest in purchase or reimbursement.
Eric Carls, Director of Engineering and Zoning reported on the OSLAD project contract regarding chillers and reported there is a vendor “Iron Sleek” that will set up, tear down and store the chillers.
Committee was in favor of this plan for multiple reasons such as manpower, liability and expertise.
