Coal City Village Board met June 11

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

At 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Mayor Dave Spesia called to order the Public Hearing of the Coal City Village Board in the boardroom of the Village Hall. Roll call- Trustees Dave Togliatti, Ross Bradley, Bill Mincey, CJ Lauterbur and Mayor Spesia. Also in attendance were attorney Mark Heinle, Police Chief Mike Imhof, Matt Halloran with Chamlin Engineering and Matt Fritz, village administrator. Absent; Trustees Dan Greggain and Pam Noffsinger.

The purpose of this hearing is consideration of an annexation agreement to be recorded at 6895 E. McArdle Road.

Mr. Fritz explained this property is a residence on the south side of McArdle Road, west of North Broadway and east of Coal City Methodist Church. This annexation agreement ensures that upon gaining adjacency to the Village of Coal City, they will become incorporated and annexed. This agreement is being put in place as the Spanbauer's would like to gain access to the village sanitary utility which, is on the north side of McArdle. This is not an issue and normally would require annexation, however, in this case they can't annex immediately as there is no direct connection to the village. The sanitary tap is in place so they can connect when they are ready. They will pay a non- residential rate of $50 per month on their utility bill as well as a one-time tap on fee.

Attorney Heinle explained this agreement is in place and is set for when the annexation occurs.

There were no questions from the Board.

Lauterbur moved to adjourn the Public Hearing, second by Togliatti. Roll call-Ayes; Togliatti, Bradley, Mincey, Lauterbur and Mayor Spesia. Nays; none. Absent; Greggain and Noffsinger. The Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
