City of Princeton City Council met June 16
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Raymond Mabry.
Upon roll call, the following answered present, constituting a quorum: Council Members Jerry Neumann, Mike McCall, Donald Saletzki and Hector Gomez. All present at the meeting offered the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None
MOTION # 1: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that the printed copy of the minutes for the Regular Meeting of June 2, 2025 be approved.
VOTE # 1
ROLL CALL VOTE: Council Members Neumann, McCall, Gomez, Saletzki, and Mayor Mabry voted Aye. Motion declared carried.
MOTION #2: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that the bills and payrolls of the Department of Public Affairs and Department of Accounts and Finance, the Department of Public Property and Utilities, Streets and Public Improvements, and the Department of Public Health and Safety, all totaling $1,664,004.36 be allowed and paid.

MOTION # 3: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that Ordinance O-25-012 Amending the City Code of Ordinances to Establish Beautification Standards Following the Demolition of a Building in a B-1 District be approved.

MOTION # 5: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that Resolution R-25-019 Authorizing the Award of Contract to Low Bidder for Wastewater Treatment Plant Storage Building be approved.

MOTION # 6: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that Resolution R-25-018 Authorizing the Award of Contract to Low Bidder for Resurfacing Fire Department Fire & Ambulance Bay Flooring be approved.

MOTION # 7: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that Special Use - Emerald Tablet be approved. City Manager Theresa Wittenauer presented the Council with two letters: one from Laura Massey of Beetz Me and another from Mary Vankeulen of Sophisticuts expressing their concerns with the Special Use. Chad Rokey, Sierra Stark and Garity Leach of Emerald Tablet Collective expressed gratitude to the Council for their consideration and shared plans for the establishment's future.

MOTION #8: Neumann moved (seconded by Gomez) to reappoint Andrew Russell, Jan English, and Lauren Smith to the Princeton Public Library Board of Trustees for three-year terms ending on June 30, 2027, and to reappoint Tess Heidenreich to the Pedestrian/Bicycle Commission for a term also ending on June 30, 2027.

CITY MANAGER REPORT: City Manager Theresa Wittenauer provided several announcements, including the adjusted garbage and recycling schedule for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. She also delivered a summary of the City of Princeton's April 2025 Monthly Financial Report. Additionally, she announced an invitation to bid for MFT Various Locations and General Fund Various Locations, with bids due and scheduled to be opened on June 24th. Furthermore, she reminded the Council that applications for the Apprentice Lineman position are due by Wednesday, June 18th, and applications for the Street Department position are due by Friday, June 20th. Lastly, she also reminded the Council of the upcoming Special Meeting being held on June 26, 2025 at 5:30 PM, where the Fire Department will present a review of the Staffing Study and the Substation location.
MAYOR REPORT: Mayor Mabry shared several updates, beginning with an announcement that Councilmember McCall is collaborating with Sullivan's grocery store. He noted that a representative from Sullivan's will present at an upcoming Council meeting. Mayor Mabry also encouraged individuals to visit the project underway on Route 40 within the Enterprise Zone.
He then invited Victoria Yepsen, Tourism Director, to provide a brief overview of the first Street Concert of the season, scheduled for Friday, June 20th. Yepsen also highlighted additional weekend events, including Shop Late on Thursday evening, ZTour, and the Beef and Ag Fest on Saturday.
Lastly, Mayor Mabry reflected on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Faber, reading a passage from his obituary and sharing personal memories of the profound impact Dr. Faber had on individuals and the community.
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: City Manager Theresa Wittenauer announced that seal coating is scheduled for the week of June 23rd in two municipal parking lots: the lot between Marion Street and Lovejoy Way and the lot between Marion Street and Peru Street. During this period, certain sections of these parking lots will be temporarily closed to parking.

MOTION # 9: Neumann made a motion (2nd Gomez) that the Regular Meeting be adjourned. The next Regular Meeting of the City Council will be on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall.
