Former gridiron stars from Mendota and Princeton high schools will take to the field again for an alumni game at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 in Mendota.
Mendota alum Nick Organ, who is co-captain of his team, said the team currently has 40 players ranging in age from 18 to 50 year old.
Princeton has 28 player signed up to play.
It will be a full-contact football game with full pads and helmets. Players pay $100 each to participate and Alumni Football USA will provide all equipment, announcers and other gear as needed.
Tickets to attend the game cost $10 with $5 from each ticket going to Alumni Football to cover its costs. The remaining proceeds will be split by the two teams to be used in their respective communities.
The Mendota team will donate its proceeds back to the high school while Princeton will split its proceeds between the community's youth football organization and the booster club.
All proceeds from tickets purchased on game day will go to Alumni Football, so both teams are encouraging fans to purchase their tickets early.
Tickets can be purchased at the State Farm Insurance and Country Financial offices at 306 W. Seventh Ave. in Mendota, or by contacting Nick Vujanov, at 815-878-0496 or Brik Wedekind at 815-878-4729 in Princeton.
