The Illinois Valley Community College men's basketball team received votes in a recent National Junior College Association of America poll, according to www.njcaa.org.
The Eagles, who won 12 of their first 16 games this season, amassed 16 points in the poll, which was conducted by the NJCAA DII Men's Basketball Poll Committee. They were four points behind
Lincoln Land, which ranked No. 20. IVCC beat Lincoln Land 70-67 on Dec. 17 at home.
IVCC is the only Arrowhead Conference team to receive votes in the poll.
South Suburban was No. 1 in the poll with 237 points, followed by Southwestern with 231, Essex County was No. 3 with 213 points, Cuyahoga was No. 4 with 200, and Triton was No. 5 with 188 points.
According to njcaa.org, the Dec. 20 poll was the final poll of 2016.
