Grand Ridge ranked 275th in state in lottery ticket sales for May 2016

The Village of Grand Ridge had the 275th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of May 2016 -- down 79 spots from its April ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Grand Ridge was $24.45 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Illinois Valley Times, Grand Ridge generated $13,008.50 in net sales from its two lottery retailers in May 2016, compared to $21,511.50 in May 2015.

The Village of Grand Ridge is in LaSalle County, and has a population of 532, according to 2010 census data.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in May 2016 was $23,040.67.

Grand Ridge's top lottery retailer is Fast N Fresh Grand Ridge located at 125 S Bloomington Rd, Grand Ridge, IL 61325.

Fast N Fresh Grand Ridge generated 78 percent of Grand Ridge's May 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of LaSalle County's sales that month, which was $2,073,660.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in LaSalle County in 2015 were Wenona, Peru, Grand Ridge, Streator and Ottawa.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
