Mendota High School is opening its big gym for the little ones this summer.
The school will host students entering grades three through eight for a summer basketball camp from June 26 through June 30.
Third- through fifth-graders will meet in the gym from 8 to 9:45 a.m., and those in sixth through eighth grades will gather from 10 to 11:45 a.m.
The goal of the camp is to work on offensive and defensive skills by using the same drills the high school team uses. There will also be daily competitions to sharpen those skills.
Sign-up cost is $35. Forms are available on the athletics section of the Mendota website.
