Mendota looking for its community 'star'

Handshake04

The Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for the employee making the biggest difference in the community, according to the city's Facebook page.

In conjunction with the Mendota Reporter, officials are now seeking 2017 "Gold Star" nominations from customers who do business in the retail, service and professional industries across the area.

“We’re looking for that 'Gold Star' employee,” organizers said in a statement. “Someone who makes you glad to do business in Mendota. This is your opportunity to recognize that kind, courteous, competent and efficient employee who cashes your check, fills your order, answers the phone, brings your food or processes your paperwork every day.”

Nominations must come from the general public. The chamber will name a winner at the Chamber Annual Dinner on Friday, Nov. 3.
