Rep. David Welter (R-Morris) encouraged Morris eighth-graders to get involved in state government during a visit to the fourth annual Eighth Grade Career Expo at the Morris High School recreation center recently, according to a press release.
Welter’s office sponsored a table at the event that featured photos of prominent state-level officials. Students enjoyed trying to match the names and photos of the governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, comptroller, treasurer, state senator and state representative with their photos.
The expo was sponsored by the Grundy Area Vocational Center and the Community Foundation of Grundy County.
