Registration for adult education classes covering basic skills or English language training is underway through Dec. 19 for the free classes that begin next month at Illinois Valley Community College (IVCC).
The free classes will begin Jan. 16 and 17 and cover adult basic education, online or traditional prep courses for high-school equivalency certification as well as English language acquisition and U.S. citizenship, IVCC said on its website.
IVCC will host the adult basic education, high-school equivalency and English language acquisition courses at either the main campus at 815 N. Orlando Smith Rd. in Oglesby or at the Ottawa Center at 321 W. Main St. in Ottawa. The English language course will also be taught at the DePue and Streator locations, according to the posting.
Before attending the classes, basic education or high-school equivalency students should call Cindy Lock at 815-224-0358 to arrange a preregistration meeting.
