Village of Ladd Board met Dec. 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Ladd Village Board met in regular session at 6:30pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, in the Village Hall. President

Mike Grivetti called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.

Roll Call:

Present – Trustees Frank Cattani, Jan Martin, Dan Nelson, Andy Ruggerio, Mike Urbanowski (5)

Absent – Trustee Jim Manning

In attendance – Attorney Pat Barry, Clerk Diane Chandler, Treasurer Rhonda Bezely, Chief Bill Gaefcke, Superintendent Doug Englehaupt, Engineer Adam Ossola, Building Inspector Tony Foster

Motion Cattani – Second Urbanowski to approve the (11-28-17 meeting) minutes, as presented.

Ayes: Cattani, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 5-0.

Motion Ruggerio – Second Urbanowski to pay bills in the amount of $126,977.81.

Ayes: Cattani, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 5-0.

Committee Reports:

Streets & Alleys – Two trees at 325 East Elm Street will be inspected again in the spring to determine if they are dead.

Engineer’s Report:

None

Superintendent’s Report:

Substation Switch – Englehaupt reported that L.E. Myers and S & C were here to work on the switch. It has been determined that some of the boards inside the switch were found to be not working. He told the S & C rep to generate a report to Engineer Al Hymans and to S & C and to also get new boards here immediately.

Motion Ruggerio – Second Urbanowski to purchase a high voltage amp meter at the quoted price of $1,352.58.

Ayes: Cattani, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 5-0.

Grivetti complimented Englehaupt on the great job done decorating the Village’s bucket truck for the Snowman Parade.

Chief’s Report:

The Police Department’s Activity Report for November 2017 was presented.

Inspector’s Report:

None

Attorney’s Report:

Barry presented two ordinances for consideration.

Motion Cattani – Second Urbanowski to pass “An Ordinance For The Levy Of Taxes For The Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2017 And Ending April 30, 2018, For The Village Of Ladd, Bureau County, Illinois”.

Ayes: Cattani, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 5-0.

Motion Martin – Second Cattani to pass “An Ordinance Adopting A Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment For The Village Of Ladd, Bureau County, Illinois”.

Ayes: Cattani, Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 5-0.

Trustee Cattani left the meeting at 6:45pm.

Motion Urbanowski – Second Nelson to approve the 2018 Village Board meeting schedule with the December 25th meeting to be held on December 20th.

Ayes: Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 4-0.

Motion Urbanowski – Second Martin to accept the annual maintenance renewal with Itron for $1,828.10.

Ayes: Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 4-0.

Motion Martin – Second Ruggerio to renewal the annual maintenance agreement with Braniff Communications for $1,200.00

Ayes: Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 4-0.

Motion Ruggerio – Second Urbanowski to purchase a $50 ad in the Hall High School yearbook.

Ayes: Martin, Nelson, Ruggerio, Urbanowski

Motion carried 4-0.

Announcements:

· Grivetti thanked Phil Hocking and the Ladd Men’s Club for the outstanding job done on the Christmas Walk.

· Martin thanked the Police Department for their assistance during Santa’s Workshop.

· Wished everyone a Merry Christmas.

Motion Ruggerio – Second Nelson to adjourn.

Motion carried 4-0.
