Tonica Community Consolidated School District 79 Board of Education met December 20.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
I. Routine Business
President Brian Marcinkus convened the board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Al Leffelman, Jackie Anderson, Tony Bernardoni, Nikki Freeman, and Ritch Fundell were present.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Additional Attendees: Mr. Charles Schneider (Superintendent/Principal), Mr. Jim Whitmore (Financial Consultant), Zach Pratt (Tonica News)
Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Bernardoni to approve consent agenda as presented. Motion Carried.
II. New Business
• Motion by Freeman, 2nd by Fundell to approve the expenses for housing at the conference rate of $231.28 per night for 4 rooms, registration fee of $465.00 per board member attendee, and one joint meal expense of $33.97 per board member attendee. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Freeman, 2nd by Bernardoni to approve expense reimbursements for individual board members: IRS rate for travel, meals and parking: T. Bernardoni - $129.34; A. Leffelman - $247.42; B. Marcinkus - $350.98; N. Freeman - $109.75; J. Goff-Rietgraf - $59.94. Noting that all reimbursement claims are below the amount allotted by board resolution 2:125-E3. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Fundell, 2nd by Freeman to seek bids for the 2018 Health Life Safety project. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Freeman, 2nd by Leffelman to approve submission of Health Life Safety Amendment #32 – Abatement. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Bernardoni, 2nd by Fundell to seek bids for the environmental remediation project for the 2018 Health Life Safety project. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Fundell to approve the Fiscal Year 2019 Levy Request. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Freeman, 2nd by Bernardoni to approve Stephanie Brady-Crite as a teacher beginning on January 8, 2018 at BS, Step 2. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Fundell, 2nd by Freeman to approve Carrie Willoughby as a Reduction in Force Recall for student supports with hours administratively reduced pending needed student supports and services. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Anderson to approve the following volunteer coaches for the intramural basketball program: Mark Coons, Jan Gray, Nate Ficek, Andrea Greenwalt, and Dusty Freeman. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Freeman, 2nd by Anderson to approve Emily Whitney as a volunteer assistant volleyball coach for the 2017 – 2018 season. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Leffelman, 2nd by Freeman to approve Carlee Skinner as the young authors sponsor. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Freeman, 2nd by Fundell to approve Heather Arbet as the spelling bee sponsor. Motion Carried.
• Motion by Anderson, 2nd by Freeman to approve Emily Whitney as a student teacher for 3rd and 4th quarters of the 2017 – 2018 school year. Motion Carried.
III. Adjournment
• Motion by Fudell, 2nd by Freeman to adjourn regular board meeting at 7:46 p.m. Motion Carried.
