Analysis: Peru pays $6.05 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Peru Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85.8 percent of the $151,850 the Peru Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.05 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Peru contributed $130,312 to the fund, which saw a $36,356 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $21,538, or 14.2 percent, in 2016.
