Report: Rutland spent $23,525 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Rutland Community Consolidated School District 230 is up 27 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $18,471 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $23,525 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 67 to 59.

Rutland's spending in 2016-17 was 81 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
