Report: Ohio spent $26,764 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Ohio Community Consolidated School District 17 is up 71 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Bureau County school district spent $15,660 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $26,764 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 79 to 62.

Ohio's spending in 2016-17 was 106 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
