Report: Ohio spent $25,284 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Ohio Community High School District 505 is up 17 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Bureau County school district spent $21,579 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $25,284 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 33 to 40.

Ohio's spending in 2016-17 was 95 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
