Report: Mendota spent $13,027 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Mendota Township High School District 280 is up 3 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lasalle County school district spent $12,670 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,027 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 629 to 553.

Mendota's spending in 2016-17 was 0 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
