Report: Morris spent $9,803 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Morris School District 54 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $10,235 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,803 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1202 to 1179.

Morris's spending in 2016-17 was 24 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
