Graduates earn 1,042 degrees, certificates from Illinois Valley Community College

About 31.9 percent of the 1,042 degrees and certificates handed out by the Illinois Valley Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Oglesby conferred 272 certificates and 60 associate's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. Data shows the school gave out 199 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences, followed by 186 certificates in Nursing Assistant/Aide and Patient Care Assistant/Aide and 107 certificates in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician.

The college enrolled 3,206 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
