Tonica Vol Fire Department responded to 22 calls in 2017 - 15.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Tonica Vol included 18 fires - nine structure fires, one vehicle fire and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $4,500 in fire loss - or about $250 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.
