Ohio Community High School District 505 students suspended 23 times in a single school year

Ohio Community High School District 505 reported 23 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 23 students during the year. That equates to 57.5 percent of the 40 students enrolled.

Of the 21 in-school suspensions, all were given to boys, all of whom were high schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 21 incidents. For 20 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes two incidents. For one incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
