City of Oglesby City Council met Nov. 5.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY RIVARA, SECONDED BY ZBOROWSKI to Approve Ordinance 1044-110518, Adopting a Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment for the City of Oglesby. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY

A MOTION WAS MADE BY RIVARA, SECONDED BY ZBOROWSKI to Approve adding Patty Eichelkraut to City of Oglesby accounts and removing Terry Kamnikar. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY

A MOTION WAS MADE BY RIVARA, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to Approve the Illinois Municipal Insurance Cooperative for 2019 General Liability, Work Comp, and Cyber Liability Coverage. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY

The Mayor asked for comments from the public. Dororthy Debosik asked the council how important they felt the Library was to the City. She mentioned the survey that is currently out. Rivara said that filled out the survey and that he thinks it’s very important. Mayor Finley said that everyone thinks it’s important and he is working on a response to their requests.

Greg Stein addressed the Council and presented the markers that will be in front of the buildings open for display during the Vacant Building Tour Saturday.

Commissioners and Mayor’s Report:

Rivara- Commissioner Rivara asked Mayor Finley for the grant number for the canoe landing sighting that he wanted to help move the bill along. Mayor told him that the bill has passed but the verbiage was wrong and that it is now going to the veto session to correct the language. He said that there is nothing Commissioner Rivara could do and that he has already talked to Sue Rezin and a rep from the IDNR.

Argubright- None

Zborowski- Commissioner Zborowski talked about the water main break that occurred on October 31. He thanked everyone that helped with it including our guys, TEST, and Illinois Valley Excavating. He said that they were on site till 1:30am. He said that we have updates that need to be done and we are currently working on a plan to get them completed.

Porter- Commissioner Porter talked about replacing a Police Squad card. He said that they will be purchasing a 2019 Ford Interceptor. He said the price of the new vehicle will be around $30,000 with $20,000 of that being paid from the impound fund. He also talked about the aging 1995 Ambulance that the City purchased used about 10 years ago. He would like to order a new one from Foster and Coach in Sterling. The estimated cost is around $184,251. Commissioner Porter plans to place these purchases on upcoming agendas.
