City of Oglesby City Council met Oct. 15.

The Mayor opened the floor to comments from the public on agenda items only. Sam Tillman from the Oglesby Public Library board asked for TIF allocation amounts for the schools. Mayor Finley answered questions presented.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ARGUBRIGHT, SECONDED BY RIVARA to accept the audit as presented by Joel Hopkins, Hopkins and Associates. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY ZBOROWSKI to Approve Ordinance 1038-101518, Ordinance adopting the zoning map for the Land Development Code of Oglesby, IL. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, FINLEY. NAYS: ARGUBRIGHT

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PORTER, SECONDED BY ZBOROWSKI to approve the Starved Rock Runners Club’s request for assistance on November 22, 2018 for the annual Turkey Trot AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY RIVARA, SECONDED BY PORTER to accept the 3rd quarter Building Permit Report, in the sum of $92,854.00, as submitted by Building Inspector, Brian Spelich. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY ARGUBRIGHT to accept the Mayor’s reappointment of Tom Porter to the Police Pension Board for a term ending April 30, 2020 AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY RIVARA, SECONDED BY PORTER to approve Blue Cross Blue Shield for employee health insurance. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY PORTER authorizing to supply space for a micro pantry to be stocked and maintained outside of City Hall by Cross Bridge Community Church. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY ZBOROWSKI, SECONDED BY PORTER to place on file Ordinance 1041-110518, Intergovernmental Agreement between City of Oglesby and Illinois Valley Community College. AYES: PORTER, RIVARA, ZBOROWSKI, ARGUBRIGHT, FINLEY

Attorney Andreoni presented an alley vacation request from Michael and Nanette Willand.

The Mayor asked for comments from the public. Greg Stein mentioned the lack of network availability for usage of wireless devices.

Commissioners and Mayor’s Report:

Rivara- Commissioner Rivara requested a working meeting scheduled for November 8, 2018 at 5:15p.m.

Argubright- Commissioner Argubright stated that the Electric Department is chipping branches this week.

Zborowski- None

Porter- Commissioner Porter reiterated Trick or Treat will be October 31 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. The Police Department will be offering a child safety seat clinic sponsored by several local State Farm Insurance agents held on October 20, 2018 from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Oglesby Fire Department.

Mayor Finley- Mayor Finley reviewed the schedule of events for the Harvest Fest set to begin at 11:00a.m. Saturday October 20th.
