Report: Malden spent $11,374 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Malden Community Consolidated School District 84 is up 1.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Illinois Valley Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Bureau County school district spent $11,231 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,374 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 88 to 91.

Malden's spending in 2017-18 was 14.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
